I Love Flying, but Something Has Got to Give
For those of you that are old enough to remember….flying on a commercial airliner was a treat. I can remember that first time on a big jet, the whole experience made me feel like I was someone important. Everyone was dressed in their Sunday best, and all of the employees at the airport greeted everyone with that smile and approving look. Like we had been admitted to some exclusive club reserved for only those special few that would be boarding the spacious and comforting interior. The choices were offered as we boarded, would it be the Chicken Cordon Bleu, or maybe you preferred the New York Strip. Drinks were served immediately, along with blankets and pillows, by smiling attendants dressed to look like some sort of executive assistant, there to make sure everything was taken care of for you. Oh how I miss those days, as I think about my next getaway, and the long security lines, and the cramped seats. Maybe the airlines could use a little history lesson, and try to recapture what made flying an experience to look forward to. Not dread.

The wife and I got lucky on our trip to Cancun, as we scored exit row seats, nice for my 6’3″ and her 5’9″ legs!
