What’s New?
Welcome to Central Standard Time. Weather-wise, it came in with too much of a bang for a lot of folks in the area who were particularly hard hit by high winds and tornadoes. Here’s hoping you and yours were left unscathed, and rebuild and recover speedily if not so. The week ahead looks to be free of sever weather, featuring highs in the 70’s and 80’s through Friday, Veterans Day. (Visit the Gig-Guide here at our website for more on the big Vet Fest event this weekend) Cool in the morning, A/C in the afternoon, a drill we’re all familiar with. Of course now we’ve got that 5:19pm sunset to cope with. Not my cup of tea.
We’ll head to the polls tomorrow, and then perhaps the State Fair of Louisiana for some tasty fried grub on a stick. (and by grub, I mean food in general, but I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody isn’t serving-up actual grubs. Probably taste like chicken.) The Fair is open for regular business hours despite it being a Tuesday, so don’t miss out on a bonus-day! All you need to know about the State Fair is linked-up right here on our site.
The Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame inductions were held last night. I’m sure there were some memorable moments, and if you want to see the highlights, look to HBO on November 19th. The new Hall of Famers are Duran Duran, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, the Eurythmics, Lionel Richie, Judas Priest, Carly Simon, and, eh-hem, Dolly Parton and Eminem.
