  • While there are some early indications that the coronavirus pandemic is leveling out, the daily U.S. death toll continues climb.
  • Thursday saw a record 4,591 deaths in 24 hours – nearly double the previous record of 2,569 and putting the total U.S. death toll at over 33,000.
  • But the number of new coronavirus cases remained static on Thursday, possibly an indicator that the pandemic is at its peak.
