Playtime Fame!
How fast a year goes by! The National Toy Hall of Fame has announced the finalists for 2022! Bingo is one of them, although I don’t consider that a toy really. Never had an at-home bingo set, but Grandma played fervently on Wednesday nights at the St. Stanislaus Social Hall. Breyer Horses is another finalist, Catan, Masters of the Universe, Lite-Brite, Nerf toys, the Pinata and Phase 10 also in the running. The lowly, spinning Top is a finalist, as are Pound Puppies, Rack-O and Spirograph. Spirograph was one of my favorite boredom-busters. If you had a Spirograph as a kid, I bet your Momma still has one of your designs hanging on her fridge to this day!
Three of the dozen will end up inducted into Hall, after voting by both “toy industry experts” (to think I have an easy job!) and the publicus at large.
