The National Hurricane Center says that Hurricane Dorian has weakened to a category 3 storm but is still packing sustained winds of 120 miles an hour.
As of Tuesday morning, it is still stalled near Grand Bahama Island but is forecast to swing north along the Florida coast toward Georgia and the Carolinas.
Hurricane warnings and evacuations have been ordered in coastal counties along the projected storm track.
Meanwhile, more than 1,200 flights are cancelled in the Southeast today because of Hurricane Dorian and nearly 1,400 were cancelled on Labor Day.
