Call Me the Brees!

When discussing the best quarterbacks in the NFL over the past decade, that are still playing, there are many names that people talk about. Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger and others. Why is it that one of the best of all times is sometimes left out of the conversation? Drew Brees has incredible stats and he’s won a Super Bowl. He is one of the most accurate passers in the league despite being one of the shortest in the league. And he’s one of the nicest guys you can find in the NFL. No quarterback has meant more to their team than Drew Brees and he has endured a lot of upheaval too. Coordinator changes, a head coach suspension, player injuries and the free agency merry-go-round. Oh, there was also the Katrina saga that he had to deal with the first year he came to the Saints. Drew will turn 40 in January and has mentioned playing till 45. Of course that is always dictated by one’s physical abilities. The good news is Brees may not have to carry the same load he has in the past. The Saints have acquired lots help around him on both sides of the ball. He will still be the leader of the team but won’t have to pass for 5,000 yards to have a good season. The Saints are a stacked team and it will be a major disappointment if they don’t make a deep run in to the playoffs.

98 Rocks is your official New Orleans Saints radio station for the area and we carry all the games live with a 2 hour Saints pregame show and a post game show too.

The third preseason game is this Saturday, August 25, when the Saints travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers. Kickoff is at 7:00PM with the pregame show starting at 5:00PM.
