Van Halen, just say the name and guitarists everywhere can hear the intro “Eruption” play in their heads. Eddie Van Halen’s influence on the modern guitar solo is undeniable, and so are many fans’ opinions on which was the better VH, (I have always been and always will be team Dave) but no matter your preference, Van Halen are Rock n Roll Icons.

I have never been to a Van Halen show that wasn’t awesome, whether Sammy or Dave, the energy and live performance is hard to match.

If you were lucky enough to be around Shreveport in the Eighties, you may have even had the rare pleasure to meet EVH at the Centenary Oyster House, as he was known to occasionally drop by when he and his wife Valerie were visiting her family. If I recall correctly, he even got up and jammed with local bands on occasion.

Van Halen will always be Dave Halen to me, but if you prefer Van Hagar, well you haven’t made a bad choice either!

Here is a link to an article about a Van Halen documentary and rumours of a possible reunion.
