April Foolin’
Back at work after a Spring break to Toledo Bend with Sweetie, and after a week of total leisure I could certainly handle some fooling-around at the station today. I’ll probably be in my ‘wilderness’ mindset for a few days, mentally paddling a kayak or biking a twisty pathway in the woods while I go through the regular workday motions. It’s a small shock to the system, diving back into the real world after a week of virtually no internet, tv or cellphone. Absent those creature comforts, lots of folks might become edgy, but the disconnect is something I relish now and then. Gives you a chance to connect with the people actually physically present in your life, if you’re lucky.
Enjoy this April Fool’s Day. I hope a jolly-joker or two crosses your path and adds a little extra fun to your day. As a matter of fact, it was on April 1st some 34 years ago that myself and a band of jolly-jokers took to the Shreveport airwaves for the first time. I’m pretty sure those guys in the white coats are still out there, and still coming to take me away…
