I remember vividly, getting into work and hearing about a “plane crash” in New York city.
I remember sitting around a TV in the manager’s office watching in shock as the second plane hit the tower on the news.
I remember putting the network news feed on all six stations in the building, and how in my previous 15 years in radio NOTHING had warranted that reaction.
I remember Air Force One landing at Barksdale, and how surreal it was to see that iconic 747 in the skies over Shreveport, when absolutely nothing else was flying anymore.
I remember how blue and beautiful the sky was that day, and how odd that there were no vapor trails.
I remember so many things, but on that day what I remember most, was how it felt to be an American, and how it felt to be so very united in the common tragedy that we were all experiencing.
What do you remember most about 9/11/2001?
