Shreveport’s Municipal Auditorium was built in the 1920s and is still a special place today. The history of this building is unbelievable, from the Louisiana Hayride that started in 1948 to shows that have been here in the past year. Elvis got his start there back in 1954. I’ve always liked the intimacy of this venue and the acoustics are great. I’ve seen a lot of shows at the Municipal and have always enjoyed my experience there. Jerry Seinfeld performed there and joked that they really worked hard at naming it.
This Friday brings another great concert to the Municipal with Joe Bonamassa. This guy is nothing but incredible and I encourage you to “google” him if you’re not familiar with his work. His current set list includes some covers from Led Zeppelin and Leon Russell. The show is on Friday night which ensures it will be perfect. There were still plenty of good tickets left at last check.
