Jocks
Walton & Johnson
Mon-Fri, 5:30am - 10am

John Walton
Born and raised Houston and a self confessed "know it all" Walton began talking on the radio as an all night weekend guy and hasn't shut up since. Wore the monkey suit as a programmer and manager and met up with Johnson and fate in 1983 for a date with destiny. John has been on the radio so long that he won't say what year he started in Oklahoma City while in college, but let's just say the Beatles breakup was still big news.

Steve Johnson
Mr. Johnson was also born and raised in Houston (don't hold that against us). He once poured hot metal in a foundry and always thinks of that whenever working on the radio "seems too hard." Steve quickly learned that the ladies loved the radio guys. Now it's true that these ladies might not always be the first ladies you would pick out of crowd, but hey, people always buy radio guys a lot of beers, so it all evens out. Mr. Johnson's various character portrayals have kept him sane and out of therapy for many years.

Check them out in the mornings.

TOM MICHAELS

Mon-Fri, 10am - 2pm
Racing Report When it comes to racing, no one is a better expert than Tom Michaels! Catch him weekdays from 10 am - 2 pm, and listen to the Racing Report Tuesdays and Fridays during lunch! At 5 a.m. one fall morning, over 25 years ago, Tom Michaels started the rock on 98 Rocks. Tom was with you during the Haunted 98 Rocks Studio Days( www.hauntla.com/98rocks.html) .When asked about the old haunted studio, Tom's reply was "Nobody ever said boo to me". Tom LOVES rockin' n' racin'.  Along with being a blues and rock fan all of these years, Tom is an avid NASCAR fan, and big fan of the local racing.  Tom enjoys weekend traveling with his RV, too.  Tom has hung out with many rock stars over the years, but the only rock star that ever pissed Tom off was... Gene Simmons (back in the 80s when Kiss came to visit the haunted 98 Rocks studios).  Tom thought Gene forgot all about that, until about 5 years ago, when Tom and Gene met once again in the Speedway Club elevator at Texas Motor Speedway.  When you see Tom out and about around the ArkLaTex, ask hm about it.  Tom has many exciting stories to share about 98 Rocks over the years.

GREG "NUKE MAN" HANSON
Mon-Fri, 2pm - 4pm

Greg "The Nuke Man" Hanson is on the air afternoons 2pm-4pm

Not many people are aware, but Greg Hanson is an I.V. League Scholar. Nuke graduated Magna Cum-Laude from Harvand University in 1985, and decided to throw away all of that expensive “book learning’” for a real job. It was then that he set off on a journey that has kept him busy and for the most part penniless. The labor of love that he likes to call his “Radio Job.”

Over the years The Nuke Man as most people call him (on second thought the most popular name is something else, but this is a family site, so we won’t go there) has found himself on different stations in different parts of the country, but he has always returned to the place that treated him with the most honor (read: the paychecks actually clear the bank) The Home of Rock n Roll, 98 Rocks.

As Program Director of the station, he not only has the cool job of deciding what music that 98 Rocks plays, and working with his top notch stable of air talent,  but it is the lesser known duties that he really enjoys, like keeping the buildings septic system from overflowing, and keeping the General Manager and his Family’s many cars spotless. Not bad for the boy who was voted “most likely to be featured on an episode of “The Biggest Loser.”

You can find Nuke most weekdays from 2pm to 4pm on the air, and most weekends curled up in the fetal position trying to figure out how the hell he ended up here.

BOBBY COOK
Mon-Fri, 4pm - 7pm

Listen to Bobby, On your drive home!

Shreveport /Bossier first heard Bobby in the morning in 1985.Bobby has also been a successful air-personality and Program Director for stations in Georgia, North and South Carolina, Nebraska, Missouri, Indiana and Texas. When he’s not on the air, you’ll most likely find him behind the mic at his home studio, providing voiceovers for clients world-wide.

Bobby is also an avid guitarist, and enjoys golf, gardening and cooking. Bobby lives in Shreveport with his wife (and High-School Sweetheart) of 26 years, Shelley, and their children Jessica and Zakery.

Courtney Lane
Sat - Sun, 10am - 2pm

Courtney is a proud Ragin’ Cajun alumni with a BA in Mass Communication. She began her career in television, but eventually switched over to the dark side. Courtney is somewhat of a musical nerd, knowing random facts about music that melt minds…her first research paper she ever wrote in 8th grade was on the history of rock & roll…(if that tells you anything) She also loves sports and is one of the hosts of the Friday Night Scoreboard show here on 98 Rocks. In her spare time, she travels to music festivals in her psychedelic school bus with her music-loving hippie troop. She is also working on making the Black Crowes music an official religion.

LISA BERIGAN
Live In Concert
Lisa is a 20+ year veteran of radio.

She has been heard around the country and currently you can listen to her weekdays on Washington D.C.'s BIG 100.3fm. Lisa has also hosted shows in Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle, Albany, NY and Burlington, VT.

Lisa is very excited to help bring Live in Concert to the airwaves. Her extensive knowledge of music and familiarity with the artists allows Lisa to share her personal insight into the significance and importance of the concerts we feature.

LONNIE HASKINS
Sat-Sun, 6am -10am

Strap in and get ready for a wild ride! Lonnie brings all the best weekend music your way 6am-10am Saturdays and Sundays!

Lonnie Haskins has been on the air at 98 Rocks for such a long time, it’s hard to say how long, but residents of Shreveport-Bossier will recognize the familiar “golden pipes.” Lonnie does weekends and fill ins mostly, but can be seen out and about town most any night of the week. Lonnie is known for his trademark saying “Whitesnake” and his success with the ladies.

A lesser known fact about Mr. Haskins is that he also models part-time for Feinstein and McBride, clothiers for the Budget-Conscious.
